Give, Save, Live is the order of a healthy financial outlook and budgeting strategy. I talk about this at length in my book "How to Grow a Healthy Church" in chapter seven. But here's a short version of the concept:

Giving is first, because according to scripture, this is how God gets his blessing to us. Saving is second, because this is our calling according to the Word of God to prepare, and Live is last. Live is last? Yep. Unfortunately, this isn't possible for most people currently in their life, this means that they are living above their means. I know, it's challenging to think about, but it's true. Let me share a testimony of a friend in our church that put this Give-Save-Live principle to practice in his family and business...this can happen for anyone that applies it.

James Boyd

Business Owner, Consultant, Author, and Pastor

In 2011 James Boyd and his wife, Tracy, moved their family from Michigan to Naples, Florida, to take the helm of a dwindling congregation struggling under the weight of financial deficit. Armed with faith, prayer, generosity—and a good dose of proven business experience—James restructured the internal workings of the organization in accordance with sound finance and business principles.
